Three $1,000.00 scholarships are awarded each year to local senior high school students.
Molly Mellott, one of our chapter scholarship winners for 2023, also won a $3,000.00 scholarship on the State level! Only 54 students applied for the scholarship.
Students should check with their school guidance counselors to apply for 2024!

American History Essay contest is open to any student is grades 5-8 and 9-12 living in Franklin County. Deadline was October 2023. Plan for 2024!

Good Citizens Award is given to one senior from each of the high schools in Franklin County.

Prepare now! The application process begins in the FALL of each school year. Check with your Guidance Counselor! Deadline mid Feb. 2024!

Patriotism
Franklin County Chapter NSDAR supports veterans in our community by recognizing service to our country. We have hosted events honoring veterans, and we donate to the Project Patriot Program. Markers have been placed on the gravesites of many Revolutionary War veterans.The chapter also participates in the annual Fourth of July Parade in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.

Historic Preservation
Franklin County Chapter NSDAR supports prospective members with their genealogy searches and supports the preservation of the Rocky Spring Presbyterian Church. Over 20 Revolutionary War soldiers are buried in the cemetery.

The Franklin Co. Scholarship application is the same as the State Scholarship application. Both can be submitted to Franklin Co DAR. High School guidance counselors in Franklin/Fulton Counties also have information and scholarship applications available for you or contact us through our email address.
